Welcome to Western Wings

Welcome to the website for Western Wings.  We are a large Special Olympics team in the western suburbs of Minneapolis including practice sites in Plymouth, Wayzata, Hopkins, Edina, Minnetonka and Eden Prairie.  Our team includes about 150 athletes and many coaches and unified partners.

Our team is currently full and only Wings athletes on our official team roster may sign up for sports.   Spots on a team are not guaranteed although we try hard to offer returning athletes a place on that team.  If you have an interest in our team, use the “Contact Us” tab and send us an email.  See our Sports section for the sports that we offer.  The State SOMN office can help you with finding other teams that might have openings.  https://specialolympicsminnesota.org/

COVID Update–April 2023

Special Olympics MN is no longer requiring the COVID waiver and practices are not restricted in any way at this time.  Good hand washing is always a great idea to prevent the spread of illness, including illnesses such as COVID, Flu, the common cold and others.
